From Katie Thrash

One of my earliest memories of Sarah is when I was an undergrad at UofO, which would have been in the early 2000’s… My cool friends’ mom came into town and treated us to a bottle of red wine and charcuterie at Ash’s apartment. I remember the label of the bottle having a knight on a horse or something. All of this was so fancy and cool to me- I mean, my parent’s red wine came in a large bottle from the lower shelves at Fred Meyer. She was so fun to hang out with- exuded positive vibes like no one else could. Creative, beautiful and most memorably, fun!

In later years, when Ashley and I reconnected in SF and began running together, Sarah would join us for a run in Golden Gate Park. Not only could the woman hang and party, she could keep up with women less than half her age for a full-on RUN! This one in the pic ended with Bloody Mary’s and beignets (sp?!) at Park Chalet in Ocean Beach. I believe this celebratory drink/brunch was where I was told about the popovers at the Rotunda room on Union Square, where I’m writing this from right now.

Thjis is my first time here and all I can think of is Sarah as I knew her- pure happiness, creativity, beauty, and fun. Class all the way. I wish I was cheers’ing you with this glass of wine. But I’m sure you’re sailing easy and enjoying your memories here - you made the best of it and I will do my best to do the same in your honor xoxo
